Porsche Taycan Sport Turismo Review: The Goldilocks of Electric Porsches
Practicality meets Porsche performance – why the Sport Turismo could be the perfect Taycan.
Porsche Taycan Sport Turismo Review: Practical Performance Goes Electric
The Porsche Taycan has already cemented itself as the benchmark for electric performance cars, but the Sport Turismo might just be the sweet spot in the line-up. Think of it as the Goldilocks option: it combines the sharp handling of the Taycan Saloon with the added practicality of the Cross Turismo body – but without the raised SUV stance. For drivers seeking Porsche performance with everyday usability, this could be the ideal choice.

Power and Performance
Like the rest of the updated Taycan range, the Sport Turismo benefits from Porsche’s redesigned rear motor – lighter, more efficient, and more powerful than before. The line-up includes:
Taycan (RWD) – 408PS with the 89kWh battery or 435PS with the 105kWh Performance Battery Plus. 0–62mph in 4.8 seconds.
Taycan 4S Sport Turismo – 544PS or 598PS depending on battery choice.
Taycan GTS – 700PS with sharper, sportier tuning.
Taycan Turbo – 884PS, blisteringly fast.
Taycan Turbo S – 952PS and supercar pace, despite weighing 2.3 tonnes.
Even the base model is impressively quick, but the Turbo S delivers a 0–62mph time that rivals that of dedicated supercars.
Range and Charging
Battery options mirror the Saloon: an 89kWh standard pack or the 105kWh Performance Battery Plus. With the larger battery, the Sport Turismo can manage up to 404 miles on a single charge – a huge improvement over the original. Even the Turbo S manages around 375 miles.
Charging is now faster, too. The Sport Turismo supports up to 320kW ultra-rapid charging, meaning 10–80% charge in just 18 minutes. On a 150kW charger, expect around 33 minutes. Home charging has also been improved, with a full charge on a wallbox taking around 9–11 hours, depending on battery size.

Handling That Defies Physics
Despite its size and weight, the Taycan Sport Turismo drives with agility that feels almost 911-like. Air suspension is now standard across the range, while optional Active Ride suspension can individually adjust each damper to counter roll and pitch. Turbo and Turbo S models feature Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus for sharper cornering, and rear-wheel steering is available (standard on Turbo S).
The result? A large EV that handles like a true Porsche – precise steering, strong brakes, and remarkable composure.
Practicality and Everyday Usability
The Sport Turismo offers several advantages over the Saloon. A higher roofline means an extra 47mm of rear headroom, making life easier for taller passengers. Clever “foot garages” in the battery floor free up legroom, while the boot grows to 446 litres, compared to 407 litres in the Saloon. There’s also an 84-litre frunk up front for cables or small bags.
One note: as standard, the Taycan Sport Turismo is a four-seater. If you want a middle rear seat, you’ll need to add the optional “4+1” package.

Design Updates
Styling changes are subtle but effective: redesigned bumpers (unique for Turbo models), fresh wheel designs (19–21 inches), and sharper Matrix LED headlights. Inside, the updates are minimal – mainly colour and trim tweaks – but the clean, driver-focused layout inspired by the original 911 remains.
Model Line-Up and Pricing
The Sport Turismo is available in the same broad range as the Saloon, but with a unique advantage: you can choose the entry-level rear-wheel drive model, starting from £87,300.
From there, pricing increases to around £96,000 for the 4S, £117,500 for the GTS, £135,000 for the Turbo, and £162,000 for the Turbo S. As with all Taycans, adding options can easily push costs significantly higher.

My Take – The Sweet Spot of the Taycan Range
The Taycan Sport Turismo could be the perfect Taycan. It combines Porsche’s benchmark EV handling with the extra space and practicality many buyers need. It’s not quite as rugged as the Cross Turismo, but for most drivers, that won’t matter.
It’s also a smart choice for business owners, with EV tax advantages making it highly cost-effective. That said, like all EVs, it depreciates heavily – so leasing is by far the smarter way to enjoy one. You’ll avoid the depreciation hit while still driving one of the best-looking, most exciting EVs on the road.

Final Word
The Porsche Taycan Sport Turismo really is the Goldilocks of the Taycan family. It’s devastatingly quick, surprisingly practical, and – most importantly – still feels every inch a Porsche. If you’re after an EV that blends performance with everyday usability, this could be the one.
